Did Tina Folsom actually write this book? I have read all the Scanguards books and many of her other books as well and this book is lacking in so many ways- boring perfect characters, boring predictable plot, boring childish dialogue. The plot is so predictable as to be nearly nonexistent. Even the final showdown with the bad guy is hardly a blip; everything moves smoothly and rapidly to the uninspiring end. Blake has matured and is now a perfect Scanguards hero, issuing orders and running missions even when Samson is present. Trite is not quite a strong enough word. I felt like I was reading a parody of a romance novel. You know, something someone would write to make fun of those of us who love romance with our fiction. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing horrible about this book. It is light, sweet, and happy but nauseatingly predictable. I am rounding up to 3 stars. I hope Wesley's book is better.Product details

Blake's a real honey and his story was really good. One of Scanguards’ human employees has disappeared and Blake and her best friend work together to find her. The kids are here again, but Wesley, Haven and Katie’s brother and the only one of the siblings who have recaptured his witchcraft powers, uses his knowledge and powers to help rescue Hannah. Lilo is not particularly happy (more like shocked) when she finds out he is a vampire. Everything comes together - Hannah is rescued and Lilo and Blake fine their happily ever after.
Wesley is curious about a being who was seen near the cabin where Hannah was kept. He follows him and as this book ends, it seems Wesley has come upon a Stealth Warrior. More story here later?

When Blake discovers that one of the Vuber drivers has gone missing, he immediately starts looking for her. Not just because she works for the Scanguards as a driver, driving vampires around during the daytime hours but because four years ago, she saved his life when his car crashed closed to sunrise. Who would have guessed that while investigating the disappearance of a friend it would lead him to the women of his dreams?
Lilo blames herself for the disappearance of her best friend Hannah. If she had only taken the call instead of blowing her off because of a deadline she wouldn’t have gone missing. So she knows that it’s up to her to find out what happened. She quickly discovers that things with Hannah may not be what they seemed when someone breaks into the apartment and attacks her asking her, “Where is it?”, someone with red eyes. Thankfully Blake shows up in time to save her but can she really trust him? Things seem a little off with him, he’s hiding something of that she’s certain but can she trust him?
This book takes place about 20 years or so after we were first introduce to Blake in Quinn’s Undying Rose. He’s now a vampire but if you’ve been following the series as I have you will have already known that. He’s grown a lot since we first met him and is now one of the top agents at Scanguards and the hybrids favorite body guard. A lot has changed since this series started as well as since the last book was written. Hybrids have grown up and while some of them are adults, they are truly so rare and sheltered that they are still not to the point of having full time jobs nor do they play big parts in the series. Mrs. Folsom does a great job bringing you back into the loop with all of the characters and how they have grown and changed but if you have never read the series, I highly suggest that you start from the beginning.
This series leads into another series of Mrs. Folsom’s called Stealth Guardians. The first book in the series actually came out years ago (my Goodreads states that I reviewed it in February 2013) and while it wasn’t one of my favorites at the time I’m hoping that this spinoff will mean that the Scanguards will be joining forces with the Stealth Guardians and if that’s the case, I’m sure I will love it. It already has a plus side since it looks as though Wesley will be in the next book.
The book was just okay. It was a normal para-romance, nothing spectacular or news worthy. It was about Blake trying to get Lilo to accept him and fall in love with him. At one point I didn't care for Lilo. When she found out about vampires by accident and before Blake could explain, she ran her mouth off. She told Blake with disgust that they were vile creatures, monsters, blood suckers, evil things and they would never be safe. She was so unwilling to be open minded, I thought there would be no hope for her. Then she uses it as an excuse to beg Blake to have sex with her, no shame in her game. I don't feel they had a very deep connection or love and I wasn't very interested in there sex life. I think Blake could have done better.
I couldn't stop reading Blake's Pursuits. It was action packed, fast paced, a few surprise twist and of course a Hot and Sexy Romance between Blake Bond Vampire and Lieselotte/Lilo Schroeder Author of Mystery stories.
Hannah Bergdorf has gone missing she is a Scandguards Driver and Lilo's best friend. Lilo has just arrived at Hannah's apartment only to find she is not there and has been missing way to long. So after a long plane ride she takes a shower. Lilo hears someone roaming around the apartment and goes to find out if its a burgler. She encounters a man looking for something and she advances on him, but he is no ordinary man. Just in time Blake arrives looking for his friend and colleague, Hannah she has not checked into work for 3 days. Blake encounters the attack on Lilo and stops the advancing Vampire for killing her. Lilo doesn't know of the existence of Vampire. So she suspects nothing as her and Blake set out to find Hannah.
This was a exciting and wonderful story. I really couldn't put it down Blake's story also introduces a new paranormal race of beings called the Stealth Guardians. I can't wait to read to read Master Unchained Wesley's story and to meet the Stealth Guardians. I also, like re visiting all the Scanguard couples and there very interesting children. I Highly Recommend the Scanguard series and its latest addition Blake's Pursuit!!
